Tickets are booked

Well this year we decided to give Karla a special Birthday present. So on March 14th her , Brooke and myself will get on a plane and head to Kevin and Shan’s for a week.

Managed to get some decent priced tickets and went for it.  Hoping to get Brooke to whatever parts of the zoo might be opened.

Wendell, Karla and myself went to have our eyes examed this week. all of us need new glasses, I knew I was going to for sure, and I was right, am even moving to the bifocal !

and man are they expensive ! Hard to believe for 2 pair of glasses just because there is a progressive lens in them they can cost so much! Close to $800 for the two of us. Crazy!! But what can ya do, have to be able to see, and I don’t really want to go cheap when it comes to our eye sight.

Loralee and I went grocery shopping last evening. gee groceries are expensive !

Amber and I went to the theater today to see Mall Cop it was good,  and was nice to get out and have a good laugh !

We all just went back to work this past Tuesday,  and I think its fair to say that everyone is still very tired. Will be glad to be caught back up on sleep. Was a very tough week the  previous  week .    I think that the long cold days are not helping much either.  Winter time really isn’t my season !

Wendell and I took Tango and Rudy to the golf course today, it was hard walking, sinking a lot in the snow and it was hard on the top so the dogs couldn’t really run either they would break thru the crusty snow on top and sink, as well as slide all over. But at least they got out for a run, its been a good month or more since we’ve been there.

Tomorrow Karla is making dinner for us she is cooking up a nice pot roast so we are heading up to her and Earl’s for the afternoon. I think Loralee will likely come along with us.

Tomorrow marks the 1st day of February,  I hope that means we can start the count down to the end of winter, Would we be pushing it to say winter would be done by april ???

The roads were horrible Thursday, a lot of  highway accidents and lots of folks sliding off into the ditch, including the transit bus that runs from Ch’town to the Summerside Tax Center, it also ended up in the ditch.   That is the very reason I would not want to have to travel any distance to get to work everyday, I think my nerves would be shot !

I hope everyone had a safe week and is warm for the weekend.

Enjoy what’s left of the weekend and thanks for stopping by.

UPDATE:

Earl has decided to join us on our trip to Kevin and Shan’s, unfortunately the day after booking the tickets the seat sale was over. but at least we were able to get him on the same flight.  So we will all be off on March 14th to Toronto !

We spent from 1 pm yesterday until this morning at hospital, Kevin arrived shortly after 2:30 am .  and She passed quietly and peacefully this morning shortly after 6 am.

On behalf of the whole family , thank you to everyone who has been asking about Ruby and sending prayers.  She is in a better place now.

Yesterday I finally finished de cluttering my house !! Whoot, the salvation army got lots of goodies as did my sister and the diabetes association. LOL

But its now done, closets are all cleaned out, junk drawers, filing cabnits, alllllll cleaned out !! not to mention going thru all the shoes, sandles, coats ect that have been taking up space yet never worn. all of it GONE :)

14

I am working compressed now so I can use just 2.5 hours of vacation time a week and have fridays off, and we are going to be able to do this for 3 more weeks. so now that I’ve gotten all my big stuff done that I wanted to do, the next 3 fridays I will get to have Brooke down for the day, and I think Karla and her will stay down overnight for those 3 fridays as well so that will be nice I get to have some nice quality time with both my girls :)

on a more serious note, Wendell’s mom fell (or fainted we  aren’t sure) on Wednesday of this week and has hurt her back a compressed fracture I believe they called it. So she is in hospital basically on her back unable to move. if that wasn’t bad enough she hasn’t been eating since the first of the week (which is why we think she may have passed out rather than fall) but we’re wondering if this hasn’t happened before and she just didn’t tell anyone. all we can do is guess, she has been so disorienated that she sometimes isn’t making much sense and she gets confussed as well.  We are worried that this could be dementia but we don’t know and won’t until some tests are done,  it could also be because of the pain meds she’s on and the fact that she’s so weak from no nutrition.

We have been trying to get her to eat but not having much luck so this evening Wendell and Karla went up to visit and she is on IV with meds in it to coat her tummy and hopefully settle it (shes complained that she felt sick all the time which is why she didn’t want to eat)  and they also put sedatives in the IV as well. she has been in so much pain she wasn’t resting very well so hopefully after some much needed rest she will start to come around. From what Wendell was able to find out this evening, the dr has put her on a non food diet until monday and he wants to do an ultra sound of her stomach to see if there is anything else going on in there.

Both times that Wendell and Karla went up today she was sleeping so Karla didn’t really get a visit in with her but maybe next weekend will be better and she can actually visit with her.

Brooke is growing leaps and bounds !! While her and Karla were here today the 3 of us girls went shopping, yes we went out in that freezing cold to get groceries !! BRRRRRRR and I think every other person within a 40 mile radius also was at the superstore shopping today !

one stop we made was at Wal Mart , Karla had a little pair of shoes to return. so Brooke and I wandered around the store and I picked up a cute pink (soooo soft) outfit for her (piglett) and I got her a little potty.  thought we would start getting her used to it, even if its just there and she uses it as a seat for now.. well that’s excatly what she uses it for.. LOL she sits on it to watch tv.

But that’s fine when the time comes to start training her at least she won’t be scared of it.  haha

My Roomba that wendell got me for christmas is GREAT !! what a differnce!! he turns it on every day when he’s home for lunch and when I get home after work NO DOG HAIR all over the carpet!! its great !

Its been very cold the last few days, we dont’ want to complain to loudly on that one , out west has been having deep freeze now for a while so I guess we’ll take a few days of it and be glad it doesn’t last ALL winter :)  The weather is saying colder again tomorrow and into Monday BRRRRR here’s what they are prediciting for us in the next few days.

The weather is going to be the news over the next couple of days with an extreme windchill warning remaining in place and not one but two snowstorms heading towards Prince Edward Island.

For today and Sunday, Environment Canada continues to have an extreme windchill warning for Prince and Queens counties.

A cold Arctic airmass will persist today and Sunday morning, says Environment Canada. Light to moderate west to northwest winds will produce wind chills near minus 35 over the above-mentioned areas.

Now, Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for late Sunday and Monday.

As the cold Arctic airmass leaves us, two weather-makers will take its place – the first Sunday night and the second on Monday.

“Current indications suggest the first impulse will bring snow to the Island by Sunday evening and snowfall amounts could exceed warning criteria of 15 cm by Monday morning,” says the Environment Canada special weather statement.

“The public is being advised to monitor future forecasts as warnings may be required.

“As for the second impulse, there is still a fair amount of divergence amongst the computer guidance – one scenario bringing the second snowstorm towards the Island while another has it scurting by the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia,” says Environment Canada.

Environment Canada said “given the uncertainty at this time, it is too early to predict the amount and type of precipitation that will affect the Island.”

this Thursday will be a shorter day for me I wont’ have to work my 9 hours since I have to attend a union seminar at the learning center and it goes 9 to 3 so I just need to go in for 7:30  and leave at quarter to 9 to go to the learning center and I’ll finish at 3 . dont mind that at all :) and then off friday!! WHOOT

I also made an appointment for Wendell myself and Karla to get our eyes tested again, its that time once again,, has been 2 years since we were in.

I’m still waiting for the movie “the curious life of Benjamin Button” to come to the theater I want to see that one !

Thanks for stopping by folks, stay in and stay warm !! (cuddling with a loved one is a nice way to stay warm) :)
