Island News

Well most of the Island is slowly getting their power back on, most have been without any pow er since Monday evening, some wont get power until sometime tomorrow, however the weather is going to hit us with more ice on Saturday. Hopefully it won’t amount to much.

However I’m not complaining to loudly because 1) we didn’t lose our power, and 2.) Since Karla doesn’t have power in Coleman her and Brooke came down to stay with us until they get power restored up there.

So we’ve been enjoying having the girls here for another visit for a few more days, and we are enjoying it VERY much !!

Also tonight is the first night of the new season of LOST ! woohoo !!

I’m taking tomorrow off I have a dr’s appointment in the morning and Karla has to go for an ultrasound in the afternoon so rather than take a couple hours in the morning and go back to work and then take another hour or so in the afternoon I’m just going to take the whole day and Karla and I will take Brooke to get her free setting at the Super store to complete the series of pictures we had booked for her in between our appointments.

I also have to go get my drivers licence renewed since I have discovered I’ve been driving with expired licence since December !

Karla was to the Dr today for her check up she’s been having dizzy spells so she went in a week early for her check up  , they sent her for some blood work and then called this afternoon to ask her to come in tomorrow for an ultra sound , just to be sure nothing is wrong.

Karla and Brooke are down for the weekend, they picked me up at work on Friday I took some vacation time and left at noon with them.

Friday we stayed in and had a great afternoon visiting, Today we got around and went and visited with Brookes Great Grammy for a little while, then we went shopping and Brooke got a new outfit that is overall’s and a little pink shirt and another little outfit, a white dress with the frilly underpants and a pink sweater, the sweater is a little big but the rest fits just nice.

After that we picked up some supper and came home , after having supper and letting Brooke get a little nap in we headed up town again to get her pictures done, we had picked 3 poses we wanted and got them all taken but then when the girl went to show us them all one pose was missing and she couldn’t find it so Karla has to make another appointment to come back to get that pose redone, its not all bad tho we got the total amount of pictures there would have been for the 3 poses for the 2 that didn’t disappear and the other ones will be a whole new package for no charge.

I pick up the 1st ones on Monday. we also did a few pictures at home here and got them printed off. I’m putting my favorite B & W on here for you and some of the ones we took in her new dress.

Got this in my email and thought it was cute : Don’t look Good Naked anymore!

This weather has been kind of different compared to previous winters, (last few at least),  Yesterday the weather was really bad, freezing rain mixed with the snow so it was sticking really bad as it came down making the roads not so nice to travel on !

Wendell and I took Tango and Rudy out to Vivians yesterday afternoon so they could run a little and play with the dogs Viv was watching, didn’t take long for us all to start looking like snowmen out there !!

Its really nice out today !! I went up town to do a little grocery shopping,  but the sidewalks are still slippery, a lady fell while walking on the sidewalk in town today and an ambulance had to be called for her.  So although its a nice day out its still not nice for walking !!

Going to Bingo tonight, I have only played bingo about 3 times in my whole life, but I decided to get tickets to go and take my sister to the bingo work is putting on, never know could get lucky and win a gift card or something

not much to update, Brooke was to her 3 week dr appoinment on Thursday and is now weighing in at 10 lbs !!

Well the weather has been so nice the last few days !! Loving this mild spell,, although I’m sure we’ll get a wake up call one day soon and be back to good ole PEI winter weather.

Karla was here when I got off work on Friday she took baby Brooke out to meet her adopted Nanna, Karla’s best friend Dawn has the sweetest Nan in the world and she kind of adopted Karla and we kind of adopted Dawn as our 2nd daughter.  They are like family for sure.

Yesterday Wendell and I went up to Karla and Earls , Wendell had to do some work on the satilite dish , Earl tried to move it and lost all signal so Wendell got them all fixed up again. While they were doing that, Karla and I took Brooke and went in to visit my Aunt Daisy, now Daisy would be Karla’s great aunt and Brooke’s great-great aunt. we had a wonderful visit because 2 of Daisy’s girls were there having lunch with her so we got to see them as well, I don’t see my extended family enough !!

after a nice supper we headed home, but not before Grampy took more pictures of Brooke, I’m sure he’ll post them here once he gets them cropped and stuff,, he took some of her little hands and feet ect but needs to do some “work” to them to take out the background stuff.  can’t wait to see those !

Today is going to be a lazy day  I think, going to stay in my PJ’s for the day and just read a little and maybe play another  CSI game on the X Box.
