Karla getting some practice in

Today was a wonderful fall day here, so nice and warm , short weather for sure,

Loralee and I took Tango and headed up to Arlington Orchards and did some apple picking, we got 18 lbs of apples and a dozen or so nice sized pears, unfortunately I didn’t think to bring the camera with me,, would have had some fun pictures if I had thought of it, Tango once again was “scared” ,, you see they had the orchards all decorated up with large stuffed animals and everytime we had to walk by some he would skitter to the other side of me wrapping his lease all around my legs.
after we finished at Arlington we came back and dropped off the dog and our apples n pears and collected up all our pop bottles and headed up to Superstore to turn the bottles in and do a little shopping.. we picked up some supper while we were there and came back , got supper over with and that mess cleaned up.. then we began…..
Peeling our apples ! now I have 5 large freezer bags of apples in the freezer all ready to make some lovely apple pies for christmas !!
What a great day it was,, we wondered around the orchards for about 2 hours, nice walking and lots of fresh air !!
Hope you all had a great Sunday as well.

Nice Matters Award

Well I am proud to accept this award from one of my first and dearest blogging friends, Faye. I would love to award this to all my blogging friends who make my day with their kind comments and growing friendship. But as the rule applies I am just to pass this award to only five.
Sandee- Sandee is an inspiration to SOOO many people, she has been battleing the dreadful Cancer dragon for 9 years !! she was there for me when I lost my eldest sister to cancer and one of my nieces as well. If ever you think life isn’t fair or to tough, you need to visit Sandee and see just what you need to do to keep a great outlook on your life !! through all her turmoil she is always ready with kind words for anyone in need. anytime I feel down I only need to visit Sandee’s site or talk to her via our blogs or email or facebook and she can brighten my day ! Thank You Sandee for being such a wonderful person and friend !
Faye - My blogging friend from PEI and the only one I have met personally. On two occasions we were able to get together with a common friend Shanna. Shanna is my son’s girlfriend and a former neighbour and childhood playmate of Fayes sons. We blogged for about a year before we found out we had this common link. Faye is the hardest working person I know, and does SO much for her community.
Bobbie - I “met”Bobbie through Faye’s blog . She has also become a constant Facebook friend. She has been there to give words of encouragement when there was tough times in the family here with deaths or sickness. If I ever get a chance to visit Vancouver she will be the first on my “who/what to see”. and of course I’ll have to get her to take me out shopping, as this is something we both love to do and we both love to find a great “buy”.
Shirley- is also from the Island and although we haven’t met in person yet we have spoken on the phone. I HOPE to meet her soon. Shirley and I share a common bond of being the go to person in our family’s . She has been there with words of encouragement when I needed it and can make me laugh through even the toughest of times ! I met Shirley through her sisters blog An Island Girl or Knitting Nana as she started out as
Cali – moved here from California to marry her sweetheart, her husband works in the same building as me and has been a friend for a while before I met Cali. She shares our excitement for Nascar and has over come many obsticals in becoming a Canadian Citizen. I think of her as a good friend !
Well that’s five but I could keep going as I have acquired so many friends and am constantly adding to my list of blogs to read/comment on. All of you have become very dear to me. Most of you (except the very newest) are included on the left column under “Blogging Friends: You lead what you think may be regular lives but all are fascinating to me as your local customs, communities, hobbies, and interests, are so varied. Some are the same as mine others so different that I am spell bound. All are unique and I love you all even if you aren’t listed here.
I am going to keep the comment Faye has at the end of her blog on this because it is so true for me as well.
Have a great week folks !!
