Gizzy is doing VERY well , he is healing nicely and the surgery doesn’t seem to be bothering him at all !

The vet sent us home with a cone to wear on him if he started picking at the stitches but we haven’t had to use it (yet anyway).

He’s taking his med’s  like a little trouper and doing quite well, running around playing and demanding his daily treats :)

This evening Loralee and I took Tango for a walk we had just started our walk and were in the process of taking a few pictures when the skys opened up and POURED  down on us.. we made a dash back to the car but we were soaked before we got even a few feet.. Now remember Tango is the boy who HATES water ,, haha it was priceless,, he grumbled ALL the way back to the car (I’m sure he was cursing under his breath).

He even barked at us as if to say , WILL YOU PLEASE HURRY UP !!  as he was running and trying to shake the water off his paws with each step.. OMG it was so funny we laughed so hard we could barely walk !!

Tomorrow Shirley is picking Loralee and I up in the morning to head to ch’town for Loralee’s dr’s appointments.

Hope everyone has a great Monday ::)

Gizmo’s big adventure

Giz has been going to the Vet’s this past while because he has a growth on his bottom. Today he had surgery to have it removed. We had hoped that this was the only growth and this would be the cure to it (having it removed).

The vet’s office just called me and I talked to the Dr that operated on Giz. she found 3 more lumps up inside his bum but did not remove them, the reason for not removing them is he would end up not being able to use the bathroom if she did and she didn’t want to do that to him. Remember Gizmo is 14 yrs old. So as of today we are going to wait and see and hopefully the other small growths she found will stay the same and not grow into anything else. if they do we’ll have to deal with that when it happens and her opinion is that regardless of age, even if he was just a puppy it would be a less than happy lifestyle for him to have the further surgery. (unless the growths poped OUTSIDE the anus) and he could have them removed like this one was. otherwise basically let him go and enjoy his time with us until it caused problems and then she said she would probably suggest having him put down. Because that would be the kindest thing to do.

so I was a little emotional on the phone with her but she was wonderful telling all of the options and what she would do if he was her pet.

she asked if we wanted the lump sent away for testing, and said that it would cost to have it sent away so if I agreed with what she is saying about not removing them and having him unable to control his bowles then there is no need to send it off, because if it came back cancer then its just another thing to worry ourselves with. So all that being said we are NOT sending it away for testing.

Giz will be home later today once he’s awake and moving around. We’ll likely pick him up around 4:00 pm or so.

He’s going to be sore for a little while but hopefully he will bounce back and be the happy dog we’ve had for the last 14 yrs !

that’s our news for this week.

Well the sun is shining today ! its not even noon time and the temps is up to 21 C so it should be a very nice day!

Did a little cleaning the last couple days, got my flower beds all weeded, (again), Saturday Wendell went to the flea market in town here for the ham radio operators, ( I got some much needed cleaning done while he was gone), after he got back we went out to Sunnybrook farms and got the “boys” a treat and a new cong ball, and a new collar for Tango. then we went to Comptons and picked up some strawberries and I came back and made my freezer jam.

Sunday I picked Loralee up and we went to some of the garden tours, and then picked up a few things at the store, and came back here and started cooking,,  I made 2 pizza’ s and a nice strawberry shortcake,  Karla and Earl were down for a visit and supper it was nice to have them for a few hours.

Donna Jean is coming down today for a visit, I have an appointment at the bank at 1 but hopefully that won’t take to long.

other than that not much going on.

Hope everyone had a great weekend !
