well I will be going to work tomorrow, apparently 2 girls quit since Friday, (the 2 newest girls) apparently Saturday was quite a day for them and they just refuse to come back. Not good, the worst of it is the newest girl that had just started a week ago was such a quick learner, she was catching on really quickly and had a great sense of humor, and was great to work with.
At any rate if the boss doesn’t soon listen to what we’re telling him and hire MORE staff he’s never going to keep anyone working for him especially at minimum wage when other Sears in the rest of the maritimes are paying a starting wage of $8.50 + .
I actually like doing the books and I enjoy the customers but if I was needing to work full time and make a living at a job that is not the place I would be, sad but when they are too cheap to pay the wages to match the work being done and be good to the staff, not work them like dogs then they can’t expect people to stay there.
for the place to run effeciently he would need 2 X the amount of staff he has and the wages would need to be at least $1.00 more an hour. THEN he might be able to keep people.
anyhow I sure am not going to worry about it,, I will go in a few days a week here and there to help out but I’m not going to take up the slack for the staff that walked out on him. He’ll have to figure that one out and get with the program.
Today I went over to my sisters and cleaned her livingroom carpet for her we visited and had a nice afternoon. Yesterday DJ was down and we went for lunch and had a nice visit.
Not much happening here, just wanted to post so you all didn’t think we disappeared
HAHA for the day:
Once upon a time, there were four people; Their names were Everybody, Somebody, Nobody and Anybody.
Whenever there was an important job to be done, Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. When Nobody did it, Everybody got angry, because it was Everybody’s job. Everybody thought that Somebody would do it, but Nobody realized that Nobody would do it.
So consequently, Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done in the first place.
another one :
TRY AND ARGUE THIS ONE…
A man and his wife were getting a divorce at a local court. However, the custody of their child posed a problem. The mother jumped to her feet and protested to the judge that since she had brought the child into this world, she should retain custody of them. The man also wanted the custody of his children. The judge asked for his side of the story, too.
After a long moment of silence, the man rose from his chair and replied, “Judge, when I put a dollar in a vending machine and a Pepsi comes out, does the Pepsi belong to me or to the machine?”
Happy Hump day!!
funny how all this job stuff is going on when people are needed the most. we are having probs at my work also. short 2-3 employees…manager gave notice…so now we have no manager either after 2weeks. *shrugs* not sure yet whats going to happen. i might not have a job come a month from now. we shall see i guess.
You’d think that a big store like Sears would treat their staff right and pay them a good wage. It’s nice of you to help out and I’m glad you’re not going to let him take advantage of you.
Have a good rest of the week! (((hugs)))
That’s the trouble these days. Our local hospital is cutting staff right, left & centre and it’s not helping the patients much. I liked your two little pieces above. Have a good weekend. *Hugs*
To bad the boss doesn’t realize he is loosing his help ’cause he doesn’t know how to treat them right. I only get $8 at the store where I work on Thursday’s but both he & she are such excellent people persons. You just want to do things for them and do your job.
Have a great day Ellen!
Hugs,
Faye
