Not enough time !!

Ellen |

some days it just feels like there just isn’t enough hours in the day!!

My sister has decided to move home from Ontario, she’ll be home in just 2 weeks so I’ve been running around getting her apt. and tomorrow I’ll go and get the lights hooked up in it and I’m on the hunt for stuff to go IN the apt. its the little things that she’ll need  that is giving me the headache,, things like toaster, can opener, dishes,, that kind of stuff,, Nick and DJ is giving a patio set for her to use for a kitchen table and chairs for the time being.. she needs a bed.. a little TV would be nice to have .. its a lot of running around to get it all pulled together, but we’ll get it done,, thankfully I finished up what I wanted to get done in my gardens so I’m not trying to get that done too :)

I’m sure I can find some pots and stuff here to put in her cubboards.. other family members are going to see what they have for dishes and stuff like that.  Thankfully the way the apt is laid out,, we only have a kitchen and bedroom to worry about there is no livingroom :)

Karla will be home in 3 weeks time , can’t wait to see her!!! hopefully everything will come together for her when she lands,, she wants to get into school so it’ll be going and seeing about different colleges to see if she can get in.. there is one that she has a good chance of getting in.. then it’ll be on the hunt for her apt and getting her settled in Charlottetown for the start of the school year in Sept.  But she’s all set up as far as stuff for her apt.. she’s been picking up stuff over the years and has everything she needs except for furniture for a livingroom so that won’t be a big job to get her settled.

Wendell will be going for his interview on Friday, hopefully that will work out well and he’ll have his job.. likely won’t know anything back on that for at least a few weeks.

So we’ve been busy the last while back but it will soon all settle down I’m sure :)

Have a great Hump day everyone!!

Good news and Bad news

Ellen | May 24, 2006

Well the good news is Wendell got his call about his job, he goes for an interview on the 2nd of June, so that’s a good sign hopefully he will come out with a job offer when its all done.

Bad news , well Karla is very disappointed she was so looking forward to going to college this year, but apparently the seats are all filled up and she wasn’t one of the ones accepted :( they said there is still a chance she could get in because there are usually a few who for whatever reason opt to NOT go after getting the acceptance into the class. So its a waiting game for her to see if someone drops out so she can get in.

In the meantime she’s making a few calls about some jobs back home here to see if she can secure one for when she gets home.

my sister went looking at cars last night and is gone to see about getting the finances to buy one its a toyota and she really liked it , its a 96 but new to her, and she really needs a better car than what she has right now. so fingers crossed for her that she will be able to take her “new” car home tonight. :)

I seen in the paper that there are some protesters at the movie theaters in town here, wanting folks to NOT go see the Da Vinci code, I don’t know the way I look at that is,, if you don’t like what the movie represents that’s ok, but its a MOVIE people based on a fictional book!! come on!! if you don’t like the story line then don’t go watch it.. but people have a right to watch what they want.. the only time I think I agree with boycotting a movie is if its based on a real life story and a crimminal is going to make money off of it ,, that’s just wrong.. but that’s just my opinion.
the rainy weather the last few days have been great for the gardens! things are really getting pretty out there now!!

Have a great Hump day folks!!

Karla’s coming home !

Ellen | May 22, 2006

Karla will be home on June 17th :) We booked her flight this evening.

She’ll be glad to get back and start the process of getting things ready to go to School in the fall and get her car back on the road.

I’m sure Outcast will be thrilled to see her too :)

Amanda and Tammy were over this evening.. we watched the season finale of cold case and then Tam had to go home,, Amanda and I watched the movie “when a stranger calls”.  Ever notice how you talk to the screen and tell the actress ,,dont’ go in there!! take the phone with you!! and of course they NEVER listen to your screams! haahaa We enjoyed the movie, Amanda took it home for her hubby to watch it.

Tammy dropped off a box full of Iris’s for Vivian when she came this evening.. tomorrow we’ll go over there and get her some Hosta’s and a few more plants for her flower bed she’s makeing.

The next task for me to start is to get my planters filled with soil and plant my string beans and peas :) I’m hoping that if I put trellis’s in the planters the beans and peas will climb the trellis and will do well. there is just no where to plant them in the ground here, I have all the spots filled with flower beds :)

Wendell put his back out again, he’s been suffering the last couple days with it. Hopefully that will straighten itself out soon !!
