I thought today would be a fairly slow day because its only the 2nd Sunday the store (valu foods) has been open.. Boy was I wrong.. we had customers coming into the store before we were even opened (they seen how we got in when we were coming in to get ready for the day) and we had line ups at the cash registers BEFORE the store opened.. and it was lined up ALL day long. at my till alone I averaged around $1100 in sales PER HOUR  so did the other cashier! that is crazy!that is like $2200 PER hour in sales!! We locked the doors at 5 and finally rang the last customer thru around 5:15 or so. None of us had time for a break or anything. I got home around quarter to 6.  Our boss was there today and he was bagging groceries for us.. he said that he was going to take us out for supper and drinks because of our hard work today We just have to let him know when we want to go.

When I took my cash drawer out after my shift to go to the office to count up everything,, once I stepped away from the till it was like my legs went to rubber..after hardly moving them for just over 5 hours they were dead asleep on me!  I think just about every muscle in my body is aching right now.

Tomorrow will be a lazy day I think.. I am planning on reading for the day if I can,, I want to get into the new book I bought “the Da vinci Code” . and that is ALL I plan on doing tomorrow.

another beautiful day here, still a bit cool with the wind but overall a really nice day out there!

got a call from work changed my schedule around a little bit,, I’ll be going into work tomorrow and then I can have Monday off
so I thought what the heck that’ll work, I can’t imagine it will be very busy on Sunday as a lot of folks still are not aware yet that the store is opened on Sundays. So it will be a fairly easy day compared to what Monday would have been with it being the grand opening

Only this coming week left at the store and I’ll be going up to Sears .

Tonight I think I’ll settle in and watch a couple of movies :)Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

I have miscommunicated to you,, on the stores, the Valu Food is the new store. I haven’t started at Sears yet I go there in another week or so (May 8th).

decided this evening I was going to go and get my hair cut, and boy did I !! I went short, very short, think Olivia Benson on Law & Order SVU. that’s the style I got.

I worked today in Grocery for the first time, unloading pallets and stocking shelves, I figure I got quite a work out today, loading boxes of product hauling it out to the floor and opening the boxes and stocking the shelves. Lots of heavy lifting but overall not a bad days work

I’ll be doing the same thing tomorrow for 4 hours then I go on cash for the last 4 hours.  Then I’m off for the weekend. Next week I end up working 4 days 2 short days and 2 full shifts. then I’ll be all done at the store, and I’ll be off to Sears for  the following week.

Watched Survivor this evening, for those of you following the show I thought Ceire did a GREAT job tonight she got the team to go with her and got rid of HER biggest threat and screwed over the 2 top dogs in the process :)  Both of them along with the one voted out were very shocked!

We are getting nice weather again,, the wind is a bit cool but very nice days summer is definately on its way!

most of my Hosta’s are up and a couple are starting to open up already!

Well after a lot of thinking and pondering and worrying, I finally decided to take the offer from Sears.

I didn’t want to leave value foods short so I’ll be there for the next 2 weeks until they replace me. So I’ll be starting at Sears on May 8th. Will have 3 weeks to be trained before my neice leaves she’ll be off until october and when she comes back I’ll be heading back to the tax center. (provided they call me back). So we’ll just switch out each time.

Well the kids are gone back.  Their flight left Moncton at a little past 6 this evening.

Wish it could have been a longer visit but at least we got to have them home for a little while

Karla is looking at returning home in June, that will give her time to get her student loan in order and find an apt close to school in Ch’town.  So we won’t be alone for tooo long before we have her home again at least for a month or so then she’ll be off again to go to school.

I’ve been off work since just before Kev cam home and Sears called wanting me to go for an interview I had put them off a couple times anyway I finally went to see them and hear what they wanted to offer me.

They are making it hard to say no to them.. now don’t get me wrong I like where I’m working now at the Valu Food the people there are great.  However it is a grocery store and the hours change weekly the shifts are all over the place but they have to in order to give everyone the hours they want. Sears is offering me basically whatever shifts I want ,, and the same shift every week if I want it.. and if I want to go to full time later they will do that as well. I’m having a hard time to decide what to do.

On the one hand I like where I am.. but on the other hand Sears would give me a little more “security” in that if I didn’t go back to the Tax Center (if they didn’t call me back) then I would be able to have full time at Sears.. Valu food can’t give me that.

its not that one has “better” people or standards then the other its the other personal perks that sears is offering me that is making it hard to turn them down.

So I’ll have to sleep on it and go up and see them tomorrow I have a couple more questions to ask before I decide but I am leaning towards sears right now. I just don’t want to leave Valu food in a bind. well I won’t do that to them, Sears will have to give me time to give them some notice otherwise I won’t go with them.

I will update when I have made a decision on that part to let you all know what I’ve finally decided to do

ohh and Cali sorry I didn’t get a chance to talk to you at the trade show I was past you before I realized you were with your hubby there.  by the time I realized you were there I was in conversation with someone else and then you were gone.
