1st day

Ellen | March 31, 2006

Well I’m off to my 1st day at the new job, today will be training on the new cash registers, its been about 15 yrs since I worked a cash register haha. The store will be opening on Monday hopefully they will do really well and make a go of it. I have no doubt they will have a hard time with the other stores being so much bigger but if they are able to incorporate all the plans they have for the store it should go over very well.

Can you believe it is now the last day of March !! Don’t forget to spring ahead an hour tomorrow !

Wednesday was such a beautiful day here I spent most of the day walking around down town just enjoying the beautiful weather, yesterday was another great day, I spent the day with my SIL and MIL doing some errands.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Later that day :

Well I went in for a couple hours for my training, I’ll go back around 5 to get my schedule for next week.  before I left I decided to sweep up the floors, and in doing that I bent to move a bag of Kitty litter in the porch, and put my back out! :(  Now I’m hurting!  after putting my back out I walked over to work and stood for 2 hours getting some training on cash. and then walked back home. My back on the left side is really sore now! Hopefully it will be better before Monday, she thought she would be scheduling me to start my first shift on Monday evening.

On a brighter note, Karla left me a message on msn today, she was going for her first day as a substatuite teacher!! Woohoo Karla!

Hopefully she’ll get lots of work in that area , I know she’ll really enjoy that line of work.

And she had her interview with Holland College Wednesday and feels that it went really well. She had to do a paper and fax it to them and she showed it to me, she did an awsome job!  Here’s hopeing that they send her the acceptance letter soon so she knows she is in the course in Sept.

HELL EXPLAINED BY CHEMISTRY STUDENT

The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term.

The answer by one student was so “profound” that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well :

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle’s Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving.
As for how many souls are entering Hell, let’s look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions
state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle’s Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the  volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:

1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, “It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you,” and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number two must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct……leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting “Oh my God.”

THIS STUDENT RECEIVED THE ONLY “A”

Wendell | March 28, 2006

I haven’t been taking many pic’s for awhile not sure why I guess it’s mainly due to poor weather, anyway I went for a early Sunday morning drive and captured this guy out hunting.

what a day

Ellen | March 27, 2006

What a beautiful day ! the weather has been sooo nice. hard to believe winter is almost over, considering we really didn’t have a winter to speak of this year.

today Nick and DJ were in for a visit, and then my sister and I went shopping and then we went around to the different car lots to look at cars, she is thinking of getting a new(er) car.  so we had a good day, just kind of enjoying the nice weather out running around.

Didn’t hear anything from Value Foods , they had thought they would be calling us today to let us know when we’d be starting our training but no word yet.  Will likely hear something in the next day or so . They plan on opening up next monday so we’ll have to start our training soon.

Last evening Amber and a few friends (and I) went to Ch’town to the movies we went to see Failure to Launch, it was a very good movie.  really enjoyed the evening out :)

Hopefully it will be nice out tomorrow I want to get outside and get the leaves gathered up off my flower beds and see what is starting to poke thru the ground.  I noticed a hosta starting to peek thru just outside my door  so the other flowers should soon be starting, although it is early for them, if the hosta’s are starting to poke thru then there likely is other stuff trying to get up past the bed of leaves out there :)

Got the job

Ellen | March 25, 2006

Well had my interview on Thursday afternoon and got the call that evening that I have the job. I had made some stipulations as to what I was looking for, told them I couldn’t work April 13 -23 and also told them I was looking for a specific amount of hours and they agree’d to all of that, so I’m happy with it. Not sure on the rest of the details yet, I will be going for some training this week once the new cash registers are put in.

My SIL was down yesterday we went and had lunch and then did some shopping. had a great day :)

Last evening Wendell and I went up to Wal Mart and got 3 more fish they are getting along fine with the other ones so far :)

We also picked up a second controller for the XBox360 so we could both play Burnout, its a crash em up game .

not alot planed for today did a little tidying up and a load of laundry.. just have to pick up a couple things at the grocery store and that will be it for the day I think.

Hope everyone has a great weekend :) (Faye hope you are doing ok after your fall, be careful girl!)
20 more sleeps till the kiddlets get home :) not quite 3 weeks ! woohoo!
