Island News

Well today started out pretty slow, I got up plenty early but between the phone ringing and visiters popping in I didn’t get started on any work till about 1 pm.
But I did get all the woodwork going up the stairs and in the hall way and the door in the hall (3 door frames in hall too) painted, then I started cleaning the rest of the house. got it all done !! floors are vacuumed and mopped. dusting is done. the entry way is all wiped down ready to paint. So I may start the porch tomorrow and get that done, the walls and everything needs to be done out there, the rest of the house is just basically the woodwork and touch ups here and there, cubboards and 1 wall in the kitchen needs to be done, and the little nook where the garbage can sits needs freshing up. but the dinning room and living rooms are fine I think.
So it won’t take too long, I’ll get the porch started tomorrow and be done of it in a few days then next week I’ll do the kitchen and rest of the painting.

after all the cleaning and painting I ran over to the bank and looked after some stuff there. then I decided to pick up subs for supper, after supper I took the 2 plastic expanding baby gates outside and gave them a good cleaning and then it was the litter box. so that is all done now too

Tomorrow will be a slower day maybe,, just a little painting and won’t have all that cleaning to do. Although I might make a pot of chilli tomorrow too.

At any rate I’ve been sweating now for 5 hours ( it was just as warm and humid today as it was yesterday) so I guess its time to go jump in the shower and freshen up

BB6 is on tonight woohoo!!

Well today was a wasted day didn’t accomplish a whole lot, went to see the insurance company, went for a walk and then basically vegged all day, I was going to start more of my painting but it was so darn hot I just couldn’t get into it.
but I definately want to get the woodwork done tomorrow, maybe even the cubboards.
One of my sisters offered to help me but I think I want to do this myself, maybe its like a self meditating thing for me to keep me sane while all the craziness of life happens around us. :p

Wednesday evening Rhoda and Amanda and I are going to see 40 yr old virgin. I’ve heard its very funny!
Valient is out now too and I’d like to see that as well.

Karla gets her car out of the shop tomorrow so she’ll be a happy camper. she’s been without it now for a week waiting for parts to come in but hopefully itomorrow she’ll be able to pick it up.

it is so warm and muggy in here tonight the temp outside is 22 and inside its 26 !! but its the humidity that makes me so sluggish !

Well the landlord dropped off some paint yesterday , so I now have paint for the entrance, dinning room, kitchen, woodwork, cubboards, door, and front step.
I think I will start with the front step, if I can get that done today so it can be dry by the time the mailman comes by tomorrow .
maybe the first of the week I’ll start in the entry way, but I need to find a step ladder for right inside the door. even with my little stepstool I can’t reach above that window and over the door way.
the rest of it I can, figure if I can get the entry done this coming week, then I’d like to do the kitchen, cubboards and woodwork that’s really all that needs to be done the dinning room is fine I think but I’ll see once I get the rest done.

Three more weeks until we go on our trip to New Hampshire.

Last month I mentioned my sister was home from Ont. she had been home in June for a visit and again last month, she is fighting cancer. well she is in hospital and will likely be staying in hospital, the dr tells her she has aprox, 1 or 2 weeks left.
I hate that she’s so far away, but am thankful I have lots to keep me busy !
Thankfully she has 4 of her children around her and her best friend is there with her.

Now I must go get ready to start painting my front step.

Enjoy these last days of summer weather folks, it will soon be over and we’ll be dealing with cooler days of fall !

The front step is now painted!!! looks better at least but not sure how long it will last as it is latex paint that I had to work with
