6 More Sleeps !!

Ellen | January 29, 2005

6 more sleeps and Kevin and Shan will be home for a visit cheese

Wendell’s Mom finally had her surgery last night she fell Wednesday afternoon and broke her leg just above the knee. ( the same knee she had replaced a few years ago) soooo she was taken to Charlottetown that same day and has been waiting ever since to get in to have it repaired, which was a job in itself due to there not being much bone to attatch the pins to at the knee area.

At any rate she has been in and is doing well so far, apparently she will be about 5 weeks before she can put any weight on it.  That could be interesting .

We are having a get together here this evening some of the crew I worked with in the potatoe field are coming over to have a couple of drinks and catch up on what everyone is doing. It will be nice to see them , I haven’t seen any of them since we finished working.

I’m working on another baby Blanket, one of the guys I worked with in the fall just brought home their new baby boy, and his wife’s mother works with me at the tax center. I haven’t been to see the little guy yet, I want to finish the blanket first.

Karla went to Ch’town last night and bought A fish and she paid $50 for it !!!!!! ONE fish !!!! he’s pretty and all that but still $50 ?!?!!

Its a blue parrot fish.  At that price it will definately be a while before the tank is filled with tropical fish !! of course being the only one of his species in the tank he basically hides behind the plant life all the time, so Karla is thinking she will go get another one next payday (the pink one this time) if its still there when she gets paid again.basically from what I was told when I got the “cheap fish” was you should always buy them in pairs so that if there is an aggressive fish they will be MORE aggressive if they are the only one of their kind, so buy 2 but no more than 4 so that they stick together and don’t feel threatened.

I leave you today with a little haha

Its been cold as heck here the last few days, we’ve had wind chill warnings all over the island, It will definately be nice to see spring in a few months!!

A 5-year-old boy went to visit his grandmother one day. While

playing with his toys in her bedroom while grandma was dusting, he

looked up and

said, “Grandma, how come you don’t have a boyfriend?”

Grandma replied, “Honey, my TV is my boyfriend. I can sit in

my bedroom and watch it all day long. The TV evangelists keep me

company and make

me feel good. The comedies make me laugh. I’m so happy with my TV

as my boyfriend.”

Then Grandma turned on the TV, and the reception was terrible.

She started adjusting the knobs, trying to get the picture in focus.

Frustrated, she

started hitting the backside of the TV hoping to fix the problem.

The little boy heard the doorbell ring, so he hurried to open the

door,and there stood Grandma’s minister.

The minister said, “Hello, son, is your grandma home?”

The little boy replied, “Yeah, she’s in the bedroom bangin’

her boyfriend.”

The minister fainted.

Digging out

Wendell | January 25, 2005

Well here we are the day after the storm and everyone is still digging out, I did enough lastnight to get the car out this morning and tonight I dug the front doorway out to where the sidewalk is suspose to be and stoped as it’s about 4 and half feet deep I’ll wait for the city to get the sidewalk cleared before I proceed to finish that area. While driving between work locations today I took a few pictures of this wonderful white stuff.  mad

Hope you enjoy them smile

Cabin Fever

Wendell | January 24, 2005

Well we are still getting hammered by this snow storm here and, it started this morning with light snow around 9:00AM and by 2:00PM it was really coming down on us, and here it is 11:30PM and it’s a complete white out. So I would say we will be stuck in the cabin until at least sometime tomorrow morning, I don’t expect to be going anywhere much before lunch time if then. Have no idea how much of the damn stuff fell on us this time yet, all I know is it’s going to be way too much to shovel. Ellen tried to get a few pictures out the door here tonight and I picked out a couple that turned out the best, as it is rather hard to get night shots to turn out well when you are surounded by street lights and the wind is howling at 50 - 60 MPH.

Another Blizzard on the way

Ellen | January 23, 2005

Well here we are waiting for yet another big blizzard, this will be the 3rd on in a week. By the sounds of what they are predicting we will get somewhere between 15 to 40 cm’s of the wonderful white stuff along with extream tempatures as low as -40 with the windchill !! shut eye

I think I’ve had enough of winter already !!  hmmm

So here’s hoping everyone is prepared to stay indoors for a couple of days, we sure are, got some junk food, some movies, and we’re staying in where its toasty warm !!

I went to Walmart today and picked up 11 fish for the fish tank, problem is they are pretty small fish and the tank is pretty HUGH sooooo next trip to walmart I will pick up the same ones again and double the number of fishies in the tank .

we have 5 different kinds, did the research to see which ones would be ok together (dont’ want any territorial things happening like cannabilism) and they seem to be doing quite well so far.  I got 2 of each kind (with exception of the alge eater only one of him) so that each kind of fish would have another the same and there wouldn’t be any ganging up on a lone one out.  We shall see if we can keep these little guys alive for any amount of time hmmm

I went and rented a couple of movies today so for tomorrows entertainment we have Forgotten and Without a Paddle.

Yesterday we went and bought our new (new to us but gently used) dryer, mine died a couple of days ago, so it has since been replaced with a newer model and the place we bought it from ( Furniture Gallary Clearance Center) was kind enough to take the old one away for us for free!!  surprised

Today was a fairly busy one as well, the usual grocery shopping and then off to an appointment and then we were off to Wendell’s mom’s place, where his sister and I cleared out the china cabinet and then we took the cabinet home and loaded it up with my china and the items that was sent with us that had orginally been in the it.

So we have the whole house changed around, I moved our bedroom around the last snow day, and then Thursday nite we moved the Hutch from the dining room out to the kitchen and brought the computer desk from the kitchen into the dining room, and I rearranged some of my cubboards while I was cleaning up from the moving stuff around (why does there always seem to be such a mess to just move a few pieces of furniture??)

At any rate, I plan on relaxing the remainder of the weekend, other than a few loads of laundry and throwing a few ingred’s in the bread machine to get a few loaves of bread ahead, I am doing nothing but things I enjoy for instance I am currently working on a baby blanket for some friends of my brothers who just had a bouncing baby boy a week ago., I have a book I have started, and I have movies to watch, so that will be the bulk of my snow days activities LOL

Hope you all enjoy the snow days that are coming, and PLEASE PEOPLE , STAY OFF THE ROADS!!!
