Day 1
Ellen | March 31, 2004 | 9:09 pmWell today was the first day on Zyban , will take it a while to get into my system, really didnt’ see any changes in myself today. but then I was told by Dr to start out on only 1 pill a day rather than the perscribed 2. so won’t start taking 2 until about Saturday.
Am getting geared up to go for my evening walk , will be a longer walk tonight I think, want to walk off a long day of snacking and bordom!
I am still not enjoying my new job , I knew 5 yrs ago when I did it I didn’t care for it and of course I’m not as fast a keyer as I used to be so that makes it even worse because its all stats stats stats!! I’m one of those folks where .. “THE HURRIER I GO THE BEHINDER I GET” and that just sucks for this job!! grrr.. I really need to go back to college and try for a different career!! And I am going to dig a little deeper on that one this summer as well. talk with career councelors and see what I can do that won’t put me in the poor house before I get work somewhere else.
I was hoping to take something so I could apply at the new hospital but even to work at the front desk you have to have medical terminology and I had looked into that a while back printed of some sample tests and stuff,, its all greek to me!! I will find something hopefully to do by fall. am sure going to work on it for the summer anyway!! I would love to land a full time job that has a LITTLE security behind it!! We had a town hall meeting today and were basically told that no more full time positions would be offered. and all term employee’s would be cut every yr from here on in. SOOO at some point I am going to be out of ajob there. I’ve been there for 8 yrs now and am not qualified to do anything else so I have no choice but to go back to school to get into another field of work. Kind of a scary thing to do after being away from school for so long!!
I think to get any kind of security I will have to look at some kind of health related work, I’m just not sure what to look for that will be something I would be good at. I want to remain kind of an office girl. so am thinking social worker or something along those lines.
Are you happy with your job? are you considering a career change in the near future?
Here is a little stress reliever for you to try next time someone causes you stress!
Stress Reduction
Picture yourself near a stream.
Birds are softly chirping in the crisp cool mountain air.
Nothing can bother you here. No one knows this secret place.
You are in total seclusion from that place called “the world.”
The soothing sound of a gentle waterfall fills the air with a cascade of serenity.
The water is clear.
You can easily make out the face of the person whose head you’re holding under the water.
Look. It’s the person who caused you all this stress in the first place.
What a pleasant surprise. You let them up… just for a quick breath… then ploop!…back under they go…
You allow yourself as many deep breaths as you want.
There now… feeling better?
