My sisters grandson arrived over the weekend , he’s going to be staying with his Nanna for the summer.  They came over for a visit yesterday and Brooke fell in love with him. she followed him around and gave him her toys.  she is quite taken with him Jayce is 6 and such a little sweetie, He let her watch him play his DS and she snuggled right in to watch, here are some pictures of them.(hard to believe there are 5 years between them isn’t it.. LOL)

the weather has been kind of gloomy but I’m hoping that once it gets all this rain out of its system it will turn into a nice summer for the remaining weeks of summer!!

thought I would put a few more pictures of Brooke up enjoying the summertime at Grammy and Grumpy’s. (hard to believe she is now  1  1/2 yrs old!! where did that time go ??)

What’s been new since we last updated ? not a lot really,  its been pretty quiet, been busy keeping Brooke while Karla is at work.  Spending lots of time outside enjoying the sunshine.

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer so far, its kind of a gloomy day out there today and looks like it could be wet weather for the next few days. but that’s ok I’m sure the plants will appreciate the drink of water.

I’m going to attempt to bathe Tango and Rudy today, I had hoped to take them to the groomers to have them professionally done but all the groomers are booked up solid some as far in advance as October !! well they need to be bathed NOW so looks like I’m going to put the grooming hat on today and see how I can do

update: both dogs are now bathed and brushed and rebrushed.  now my whole house smells like wet dog!! arrgg.

Yesterday Loralee came over and her and I got the house cleaning all done, I freshened up the carpets, floors ect with baking soda and vinegar and got the “doggie smell” out of it. so now its time to bathe said doggies and try to keep the fresh in the house for a while.  haha ( yep now that the dogs are bathed,, that “fresh smell” not so much anymore). will fix that tomorrow.

Brooke decided she was going to “dress herself this morning”  she has a mixture of her clothes and mommy’s clothes then she had to show mommy how pretty she was.

What happened to our wonderful warm sunny days ?? Yesterday and Saturday were great days lots of sunshine just like summer days !! today poof, back to fall !!

Today I have my great nephew Jake,(my nephew’s little boy and boy does he look like his daddy!) he is such a little cutie !! I’ll post some of the pictures we took this morning. He was having a ball playing with Brookes toys and crawling thru her tunnel.

After playing for  a while he had a big bowl of oatmeal and I got him dressed and then another hour of playing and he was ready to hit the hay. tuckered him right out.

He sure is a happy baby, He just turned a year old last week.

I want to get down to Vibe and get joined back up for a month to get back into the swing of things. I’m going to just see how often I’ll have Jake and Brooke and what hours Vibe is open, I may have to go in the evenings instead of the mornings since Jake’s mommy works early morning shift at the hospital.  Won’t be to long before she will be off again as she is due to have another little boy (baby brother for Jake) around the 1st of August.

Today is my first day of trying to quit smoking. may have to go get some quit patches but I’ll see, I would love to be able to do it without anything but if it gets to rough then I’ll put a patch on.

Going to get the Wii out later on and get going on the Wii fit, want to start using that on a daily basis.  I haven’t been to Tops now for the last month. I’m debating on going back, I find it was starting to get boring and I was just going to be weighed.. well I can weigh myself at home here , and the wii fit will keep me posted on any loss’s or gains I have so I may just go it on my own.

With Jake arriving at 7:15 this morning I didn’t get out for a morning walk, but that’s ok it is pretty cool and windy out there right now.

DJ is coming down for a visit today, haven’t seen her in a while. Will be nice to have a little visit.

Over the weekend, Wendell and I took a drive and took some pictures of one of the spots that Kevin and Shan have picked out for a possiblity of where they want to have their wedding, they had another spot picked out but we were unable to find it even with the GPS !! Sooo if its that hard to find even with GPS I’m thinking a lot of guests will likely have problems finding it as well ! we never did find the spot.

Yesterday we took the dogs for 2 walks one in the morning up at Friendship park, and again in the late afternoon down at the old spa, there is an osprey down that road with a big nest on top of one of the poles, Wendell had the camera but had the wrong lens on it so wasn’t able to get close up pictures of course this would be the one time that mr osprey would decide to leave the nest and circle right over our heads !! would have been great shots with the other lens, he did take a few pictures. haven’t seen them yet but once we down load them if there are any that are nice and clear we’ll post them.

One week from today is Wendell’s birthday,, this will be his last year in his 40’s  :)

Thursday I have to go into work for an hour or so in the morning.  and I’ll have to stop by the unemployment office too, I have to fill out and drop off a form showing my “best weeks” so that they will take my best weeks to figure out my rate of pay on my EI claim. While I’m there I’m also going to turn in a resume to see if I can get some summer employment as a clerk to help process the employment insurance claims.

Lets see,, Monday our first day home I had an appointment for a “field test” for my eyes.  So on my way there I dropped Loralee off at home she had stayed here while we were away to look after the dogs. before my eye test I went for groceries since we had very little here and then on to the eye test. When I got home my girls were here it was Great to see them!!!  Karla worked 4 to midnight so they stayed down the night. Tuesday afternoon I went back to the vision clinic for my results from the field test. the test was great. no problems there,, so I decided to ask the dr if she would check my glasses. Ever since I got them I have felt so tired all the time, I had been to the dr and had just about every blood test you can name to see if there was anything wrong, everything came back fine, but I still had no idea as to WHY I was feeling so darn tired all the time. So I thought well might as well have the glasses checked out,, Well it turns out that I have very bad stigmatisims in both eyes. and this was my first time with bifocals as well.(Which I was told it would take a while to get used to the bifocals so I didn’t question it much).. As it turns out, Vogue mixed up my lens’s  and the stigmatisims in each eye are very different so it was making my eyes work REALLY hard to focus which in turn was making my eyes VERY tired which in turn made ME very tired. So back to Vogue to return the glasses and have them send them off to be corrected (will take 2 weeks).  Vogue called when I got home to apoligize profussely and offer me anothe pair free. So I guess Wendell will get some sunglasses since I already have mine. (and yes I had her check those as well and they are fine).

Wednesday we had to take Gizmo for his final Vet visit.

Wendell and Karla took him I stayed home with Brooke, it was a very sad day for all of us. and the next morning (this morning) when Wendell got up for work and put Tango and Rudy out for their morning duties Tango got upset because he kept barking at the door wanting wendell to let Giz in he was always the one to let us know when he was ready to be let in and Tango got upset that Wendell left for work and he wasn’t in.. he even tried to get out to go “fetch” Giz when Wendell was leaving for work. They are wondering where he is for sure.

Today Brooke and I spent most of the day outside. she had a great time smelling all the flowers and going for walks .

After we got back from our after supper walk , it was bath time for Miss Brooke so we got that done and she had her bedtime snack and then played until Mommy got back from work to pick her up. She had a very full day and only one short nap this afternoon so I imagine she will sleep very well tonight!

After Karla picked up Brooke I got some much needed vacuming done and a little dusting. I’ll have Brooke back early tomorrow morning so I’ll throw a load of laundry in before she arrives.

Hopefully tomorrow will be another nice day and we can get back outside again, we are going to have to find something to use as a sandbox for her she loves being out there playing.

I am so thankful Brooke is such a healthy happy baby, my grand niece has a little girl just a few months older than Brooke and she has just found out she has cancer, they found a large tumor in her little belly, and apparently the cancer has spread to her leg bone, her ribcage and skull. She is back and forth from IWK in Halifax to Sick Kids in  Toronto for treatments and to remove bone marrow to harvest (they are going to do something with it which will make it healthy so they can put it back into her after her radiation and chemo treatments). Its very scary when a small child is so sick. I can not even began to imagine what my dear grand niece is going through right now !

The weekend is almost upon us again, I am hoping it will be a nice weekend so I can get a few more things done in the gardens.
